Community Northern Beaches needs your help to provide vital support this Christmas
As you prepare for Christmas, take a moment to think about those less fortunate. Not everyone will be enjoying opening presents or sitting at a table laden with delicious food.
For the people we support, Christmas can be a time of extreme hardship. We see families without enough food, elderly suffering isolation and many without safe or secure shelter.
Please help us provide vital support this Christmas.
Last Christmas, Jenny* spent Christmas on the streets. With no family, no job and an addiction to alcohol, Jenny had nowhere to go – the bus shelter provided a break from the weather and lighting which offered some small perception of safety.
Last September, Jenny visited Community Northern Beaches where she was supported by Nonnie, the Domestic Violence and Welfare Worker and Daniel, the Homeless Outreach Worker. They organised emergency accommodation, clean clothes, food and connected Jenny to more supports. After four terrifying years of domestic abuse, Jenny had escaped and needed intense counselling to help her recover from the trauma that she experienced.
This Christmas Jenny will have a warm place to stay and food to eat. As Jenny gradually puts her life back together,Community Northern Beaches will be there each step of the way.
Without the services provided by the dedicated team at Community Northern Beaches, who knows where Jenny and others like her would be?
