Last Sunday 5 November we hosted our first ever Community Expo at Community Northern Beaches. Our intention with the Expo was to contribute towards the strengthening of the ‘social fabric’ in society by facilitating the growth of community organisations.
We had 20 local organisations set up at tables in the Heritage Hall and there was a fantastic atmosphere, giving us confidence that this is an initiative worth pursuing in the future.
According to one of the exhibitors, the networking and connection building between exhibitors was amazing – there could hardly have been any more people in the room at some stages!
A particular thanks to the Manly Warringah Pipe Band for getting out the pipes and drums and playing on the street to drum up support.
Hopefully next year the rain will stay away and we will be able to get more people through the door to join these wonderful community organisations.
Thanks to all those organisations or individuals who participated.
